In just a few months director David Fincher will be back to knock the socks off our feet with yet another enticing mystery, this time adapting Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel Gone Girl.
Adapted into a film script by Flynn herself (marking her first foray into screenwriting), Gone Girl tells the story of married couple Nick and Amy Dunne (Ben Affleck, Rosamond Pike).
On the morning of their fifth wedding anniversary, it is discovered that Amy has disappeared, and, naturally, the first person to be turned into a suspect is her husband, who has a ton of evidence stacked up against him. The book is told from two points of view – through Amy’s diary and Nick’s thoughts after the disappearance – and all along the reader isn’t quite sure if Nick is actually guilty or innocent of the crimes he has been accused of. The film’s impressive supporting cast includes Neil Patrick Harris, Missi Pyle, Tyler Perry, Patrick Fugit, Kim Dickens, Scoot McNairy, Casey Wilson, Carrie Coon and Emily Ratajkowski.
